In spite of its small size, the picturesque royal burgh of St Andrews is an ideal place for self catering visitors. There is plenty to see and do whatever the weather! As well as the miles of golden sands, there are many attractions as you will find from the links below. If you have a car you can visit the nearby East Neuk of Fife, noted for some of the most picturesque towns and villages and harbours to be found in Scotland. This area with magnificent views over the Firth of Forth has some lovely coastal walks and is well worth visiting

St Andrews is famed far beyond the borders of Scotland. St. Andrews Old course is the home of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club. St Andrews is the spiritual home for golfers everywhere and over the years the famed Old Course has played host to the world's best players at many different championships. It is the ideal base for  a golfing holiday. It is also an ancient seat of learning, being home to Scotland's first university, which was founded in 1412. It has a ruined castle and cathedral and some cobbled streets still remain. There are miles of golden sands. There are many good shops and restaurants.
